Hotel Sol = Great place to stay in Ollantaytambo

We were pleasantly surprised by both Ollantaytambo and Hotel Sol.

We stayed at Hotel Sol longer than planned – a week instead of 3 nights – due to our multiple attempts at reaching Machu Picchu. Our room was really nice with an awesome view from the balcony. Just around the corner was the breakfast room, a really cozy place with tea, comfy sofas, a panoramic view, all accompanied by the sound of the river rushing by just outside. We spent many hours in there eating, playing games, and talking.

The staff was great too. Most importantly, the staff genuinly cared and did their utmost to make our stay as pleasant as possible. For example, some of us were sick for a few days, and they brought fruit and tea to the room and offered to get a doctor (we didn’t need that, but were glad for the offer).

This is the place to stay if you ever plan to visit the sacred valley (unless you’re on a very tight budget)!

  1. That seems like a pretty and cozy hotel. The view outside is undoubtedly beautiful with the mountains and rocks. Anyway, I’ve always wanted to go to Machu Pichu. I heard a lot of awesome stuff about that place. Someday, somehow. =)
