New Zealand’s longest swingbridge

While driving to the west coast we stumbled upon THIS:

P1070186

It’s the longest swingbridge in New Zealand – 110 meters long, crossing the Buller river gorge at an impressive height! Really fun! Fortunately nobody in the family is overly scared of heights (not sure if that’s good or bad…).

And best of all, on the way back they have a “comet line”, where you can get into a seat and basically fly 160 meters across the gorge back to the other side. Crazy fun!

Wasn’t sure we’d be able to get the whole family back across this way, but it worked out!

We keep bumping into fun little adventures and detours like this. No wonder every drive takes about twice as long as planned :)
